The Benefits of Online Marketing

The Benefits of Online Marketing

Today, both large and small companies use online marketing to reach the everyday Internet user looking for services or product information. However, you might be surprised to learn that there is not much difference between a $100,000 online marketing campaign and a $1,000 campaign. Well, the concept behind the campaign: establishing a brand, knowing the target market, generating sales and encouraging repeat business.

Online marketing is not just buying banner ads but also about utilizing email, social media to communicate with customers and updating the company website with relevant service or product information, as well as special offers. All online marketing efforts should focus attention towards the company website. A well designed professional looking website is Key. The company image or brand needs to be reflected in the design of the website creating a perception the customers can trust and hold value. Many individuals will not buy from a website that is not well designed.

An advantage of online marketing is the cost to reach ratio, compared to traditional marketing campaign budgets, online marketing can reach a massive audience at a less cost. Basically, a company doesn’t need a million dollar marketing budget to create an effective online marketing campaign. Another advantage of online marketing is measuring the statistics of the campaign, which can be easily done since most aspects of an online marketing campaign are traceable.

Here are two fundamental requirements for being successful with online marketing. A website should always be maintained by adequate human resource, real individuals who create the personal touches and respond quickly to potential clients. For example, an email response should be sent within 48 hours to 72 hours. A company’s image or brand should be consistent throughout all online communication, such as email and social media. For example, an email signature should include full name, title, contact information, website address and a couple of lines about a company promotion, which has a call to action.

Once committed to providing consistent customer service, it’s time to set the online marketing campaign goals. The online marketing campaign should be consistent with the overall company goal. Make sure that the goal is reasonable and able to be accomplished online. Determine what the company’s primary goals are in having a website, how the company plans to sell their service or promote their product on the website and how the company plans to close a sale; there should be a call to action.

Last but not least an effective online marketing campaign can significantly help offline sales.
